Skiing and Skiing
I am way behind on my blogging, but I will jump straight to today.
Last night Mom took Splash for the night. After terrorizing Maggie for awhile, I guess they learned to get along.
Matt and I met my Dad at 7 and went up to A-Basin to go snow skiing.
It was pretty good weather. A little bit windy, but we were in jeans and light jacket. They had 6 runs open, and while it was slushy, it was pretty good.
We skiied for a bit then drove back down. We went home, switched the gear in our cars, and went back to the lake.Water skiing! It was actually surprisingly calm which was nice. The water had warmed up quite a bit in the past few hot days. Here is Matt.

1/2 Week without Matt
So Matt left for Wyoming on Monday afternoon, so just me and Splash and M+P all week. (More on M+P later). On Monday ESPN had the Tigers vs Yankees game on, so Splash and I were very intently watching (see below how big of a fan Splash is).

Once the Tigers won (wooo) we switched to the Rockies game, which was very close. But, they blew it in the top of the 9th (Phillies scored 4 in the top of 9th) so we moved to the couch and fell asleep.
On Tuesday I went to taste test wedding food for Jess/Mike wedding. The food was all very good. Since I get up at 6am (at the latest) every morning with Splash (who usually sleeps until 6, so we are improving), I was hungry around 10 anyway. So I heated up some leftover ribs and sat down at the island. I had Peanut on the chair next to me trying to get my ribs, while Splash was on the floor trying to get Peanut's tail. The barking/hissing was getting to me (Peanut smacks the heck outa Splash, and he does not care, just barks and tries to get her to play more). Anyway, I gave up, gave Peanut my ribs and took Splash outside. It was a good thing the tasting was a full meal - and in peace! (Matt and I put Splash in his crate during our dinner time to let Peanut beg in peace, but this was lunch and I am way out numbered by the animals).Tuesday night Splash and I went to puppy kindergarten. We had fun, and it wore us both out. Splash is by far the youngest (you have to be 10weeks -5 months, and Splash is 9 weeks, so thats not surprising). He did pretty well about looking at me with the distractions, at least as good as the other dogs (6 total), and way better than the one idiot snauzer. Splash and I were so tired we went to bed when we got home - at 8pm.
Here is a cute pic of Splash that I am not sure when it is from.
This is last night when we got home, he fell right asleep.
This is last night when we got home, he fell right asleep.
So since we went to bed at 8...we got up at 4....grrrr. I stalled him til just before 6 and got up. We were playing with his toys, here is him pouncing on it. I cannot get the camera to take fast enough pictures, so this is the best action one I could get.
We were playing and then he laid on my legs with his favorite bear to chew on that awhile when at 7:30 the doorbell rang. I figured, who can be coming at 7:30am?? I figured Mormons, I was watching Monk on tv and he was on my lap, but I got up anyway.
Turns out it was Lowes here to deliver my W/D which I did not even know they were coming! (apparently Matt told me they called him...). I just finished my first load, I need to take it out of the dryer, but guess who is on my lap again...
Okay, so it snowed last night - we got about 3 inches. Splash was a little hesitant at first (he went to the bathroom in the rocks which did not have snow on them). But he warmed up to it, and then loved it. We played lots of frisbee!

"ahhhhh!"
Again, my camera isn't the best. (well mine barely works, Matt's isn't the best). He will sit and wait and then come when you say come (okay about 75% of the time), but it was so cute to see him tearing to me.
We had lots of fun in the snow. It is mostly gone now. "We" are sleeping (I wish I was) after all that playtime. The rockies day game is on, but they are losing. Mom just texted me and said to come down and watch the Tigers game with them (which is on ESPN again) so I might do that - have someone else wear him out a bit! Matt comes home tomorrow.Busy Weekend
On Friday Mom and Dad came over and brought some subs for lunch and then we went an toured the Denver Mint. It was not a very good tour, I was disappointed because "Denver reviews" say that you should do it, and we were on the wait list for 2 months!
We then went down to the lake to check things out down there and then went to the Spur for dinner. On Saturday, M+D picked Matt and I (and Splash) up at 7am to drive up to Greeley for Andrea's graduation.

Matt and I stayed through the main speaker (a trainer from the Denver Broncos) and then left, as Splash was chilling in the car and we didn't want to listen to 2k+ names being read.We loaded Andrea's stuff into the cars to move her home. Andrea's roommate had a hamster which Splash could not get enough of. He even got his head stuck in the hamster ball.
On Sunday we went to church (again Splash chilled in the car) and then we went down to the lake. Jeff and Tarah came down with Tanner, and M+D and Andrea brought Champ, so lots of dog playing down there. They took the forms off the cement. Matt was going to ski, but Robert didn't show up, so he didn't go. It was a little windy anyway. And the water is freeeeeezing!
Week
The first week of owning Splash was pretty busy.
Monday - went to Matt's softball game. Met Dave, Tim and Champ, took a nice nap. Slept til 5:15am - a record!

Tuesday - I went with Mom to pick out cabinets and other such things for the lake house. We sorta picked some out, but don't know if that will stick or anything. Matt came home at lunch to let the Splashster out. That night Matt and I went to the first day of puppy school (Splash did not get to come). We are learning clicker training and Splash is doing pretty well with it.
Wednesday - I took Splash down to the lake to check out the pouring of the cement into the forms. Had a nice walk around the foundation/down to the lake. It was pretty cold. Splash drank from the lake, but did not go in. I don't blame him. Then Dad got off the phone and we took another nice walk around the foundation and down to the lake. Dad and I went to lunch at O'Malleys while Splash slept in the car - he was passed out from all that walking/hiking!
Thursday - well I don't remember what we did on Thursday.
Splash loves the Tigers
While in Detroit, I drove all over creation looking for a Tigers blanket for Splash. I finally found one at the 2nd Meijer I went to, and now Splash loves it.

Here is Splash in his blanket.
The first few nights with Splash he "didn't exactly" sleep through the night. So I put a pillow and sleeping bag next to his crate so he would be quiet. When he did get up in the morning, he just came and crawled in my sleeping bag with his bear Aubrey gave him. Go Tigers!
