October Blizzard

So on Tuesday night it started to get cold and rainy and then turned into a slushy nasty ice snow mix. When Matt left for work (in my car) on Wednesday we had 3-4 inches and then an hour later (8am) you couldn't tell he left from the driveway and it was snowing hard and white. I stayed by the fire with the kitties.

I shoveled the driveway for an hour - slippery icey on the bottom with 6 inches of snow on top. Real lovely combination. Matt's office closed at 3 and he got home in the slippery mess. We shoveled again last night another 2 inches and then went to bed with it snowing more. We woke up and had a good six inches more on the driveway - could barely tell we shoveled at all the day before - less alone twice!

So we shoveled some more this morning, came in ate breakfast, and the driveway is covered again! We have a foot in the low spots and 20 inches in the high spots.

Happy Halloween!

Key West

After my last post of the snow, we went to the airport on Thursday to go to Miami. We got de-iced again, but landed in Miami just fine - nice warm weather away from the snow!

Our flight to Key West was delayed (The Key West airport closed because of an airplane accident...great...) but out of four flights only one being late was pretty good.

So Andrea, Jake, Matt and I had some drinks and appetizers at the airport.

Then we rode a bus to the plane we flew to Key West.

Here is the main house we hung out at, right on the ocean.

Had a nice pool (here is Grandpa floating).

On Thursday night (when we got there) we went out to eat and I got a seafood pasta that was so good. On Friday we hung out at the pool and played some cards and enjoyed the sun. Thursday night they all caught a shark, which I enjoyed until they actually killed it and that I couldn't handle, so while you won't see me in any of the shark pictures, here is Matt. (he enjoyed it all).

We ate the shark for dinner on Friday, it tasted pretty good, and then we had steak and lobsters on Saturday that was yummy!!!

On Sunday Mom and Mary drove us back to the airport in Key West. We went to the Cuba point and then walked the strip where it was super hot. We had a delicious lunch and a key lime colada that was good.
Then we flew home to the cold and snow... Matt and I froze on the way to our car and then had to chip the ice off of it to get home. My car's heat "doesn't exactly work" so it was a little chilly ride home!

House Pics

Okay. The walls are pretty bare, but other than that we have made a lot of progress.

Here I am standing in the family room looking towards the kitchen: (Magic sits on top of the fridge).

Then by the kitchen table looking at the family room: (Peanut loves the fire!)

More family room. The door you see goes to the basement. The coat rack hall leads to the garage, and down that hall to the left is 2 closets and a bathroom.

These are the 2 closets (left is cat litter, right is laundry) and straight ahead is the half bath:

This is the dining room. The kitchen is behind the right wall and the windows look out the front.

Here I am going up the stairs. This is the "loft" where we have our computers set up. Below you can see the dining room and part of the fridge.

You can start to see the hall on your right, that leads to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

Bedroom that has no use - Christmas stuff!

Guest bedroom:

Guest/hall bathroom.

Still working on setting up the office..

At the top of the stairs instead of going left to the office and bedrooms if you go right is where the master bedroom is:

Cat chairs and the tv:
My dresser, the door to the hallway. The railing there looks down to the family room:

Here is that same door to the hall, then the frame to our bathroom:

Bathroom (toilet is through that door):

Directly opposite the bathroom door is the closet...Matt sorting his clothes:

That is my tour of our new house! Come and see in person...and bring some pictures for the walls!

Our Stuff Has Arrived!

Yesterday morning the semi showed up with 2 creepos and all our stuff! It is in these crates because it has been in storage since the end of May.

Notice how foggy it was!

Jessica came over and helped me unload all the kitchen boxes and find homes for it all.

After Matt got home I made him set up his computer so that I could have internet!!

Here is my old bed/now the guest room bed all set up. Who will be our first victim...

And here is our bed all set up. I then went straight to bed I was so tired from going through boxes.
This morning (Thursday) an "unpacker" showed up, but I had already unpacked most of the boxes, and I am keeping them for Cindy, so he didn't do much. And the "uncraters" also came so we have our tv back.

So now that you are all caught up on my life, I have more boxes to unpack!

Tuesday - Bedroom Furniture

On Tuesday morning our bedroom set from American Furniture came.

It looks good. Then I painted the guest room blue.

Monday - Rockies Game

I am done with sports.

Matt, Dave, Tim and I went to the Rockies game Monday where they had the game won and my favorite player blew it in the 9th to lose, and I am so sad I just can't handle sports anymore.

Sunday - Minnesota

On Sunday we woke up and made an apple pie for Carol.

Then we went to an orchard.

It was freezing cold. Only Elizabeth and I brought our winter coats to Colorado, so Laura had to pass some out. This is up on the hay ride.

We got some apple donuts and hot cider. Yum.

We also went through a corn "maze" that had no wrong way, and saw some animals. Then we came back and carved 2 pumpkins.

We watched the Lions disappoint again (sigh) and the Broncos win (wow) before heading to the airport, where they did NOT show the "do or die" Twins game on tv. Andrea and I played a lot of "golf" card game on the flight back where she made up rules to benefit her...

Then I drove the "windshield whiper fluid still frozen" car back to my house and went to bed.

Good weekend!
