On Friday Matt and I drove up to ski at Keystone. On Friday it was sunny and warm and very empty, so we had a great day of skiing. Since it was just the two of us we did no stopping and with no lines got quite a few runs in.
Adventure note: We drove up to Keystone on Friday morning and I had the ipod tape adapter in with the cord that connects to your ipod so that you can listen to your ipod in the car. Anyway, so we go skiing and quit and come back and the tape is still spinning. I'm like what? The car is off! So luckily the battery wasn't dead. So I push eject, and ... nothing. So we turn the car on and can't get the tape to spit out! It is just spinning away and if you plug it back into an ipod it plays! No power! So we try to get it to come out using a screwdriver and trying to pry it out, and still no luck. So we don't want to just leave it and have the battery dead in the morning. So i called my Uncle Dave and he told me to just pull the fuse to the stereo, so we did that and that made it stop spinning. Jeez.Matt had booked a night at a hotel room awhile back, so we checked into that and then went in the hot tub. We walked back into the base of the mountain for some wings and beer before watching the XGames at a bar. Then we fell asleep watching more Xgames on tv.
We decided to pay the $5 each to ride the snowcat to the top of Keystone. The ride was quite fun and well worth the money to laugh at all the dedicated hikers. The snow at the top wasn't that great (the mountains need snow), but we had fun and got some good pictures.
Back at the car after skiing we put the fuse back in so we could listen to the radio and the tape spit right out! I have no idea what that was all about. Weird.
It was a good weekend up in the mountains, our 9th and 10th day skiing for both of us.
